Williams rushed four times for 11 yards and caught his only target for minus-two yards during Sunday's loss to the Bengals.

Entering the game with a hip injury, Williams logged a season low in carries while D'Andre Swift saw 20 combined targets and rushing attempts. While the impending return of Taylor Decker finger could boost the Detroit rushing game in the near future, the season-ending loss of Frank Ragnow toe will continue to be difficult to recover from. Regardless, Williams likely will remain in the back seat to the receiving-proficient Swift, and his fantasy outlook could diminish if Detroit can't find ways to remain competitive most weeks.

Williams hip is listed as active Sunday versus the Bengals. Williams tended to a hip injury for a second week in a row, but an illness kept him off the field entirely from Thursday's practice. Still, he'll be out there Week 6 behind starter D'Andre Swift groin , which so far has amounted to 14 touches per game this season for Williams.

Williams has been nursing the hip issue for the past couple weeks, while the ailment prevented him from practicing Thursday. He was back on the field Friday in a limited capacity, so he looks like he'll be ready to go for the Week 6 matchup, working in tandem with D'Andre Swift groin in the Detroit backfield. Fellow running back D'Andre Swift also is questionable due to a groin injury. Williams sandwiched Thursday's absence from practice between a pair of limited sessions, and he'll likely be a game-time decision Sunday.

A hip injury has kept Williams as a limited participant the past two weeks, while an illness caused him to miss Thursday's practice entirely. His return to the field Friday suggests he'll play through the hip injury again this Sunday against the Bengals, working in tandem with D'Andre Swift in the Detroit backfield.

Williams ' absence Thursday was the result of a hip injury and an illness, Tim Twentyman of the Lions ' official site reports. Williams appeared on the Lions' initial Week 6 injury report as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, with only the hip issue attached to his name.

His downgrade to no activity a day later with a new health concern in tow likely points to the illness being at the root of his absence, rather than any sort of setback with his hip. So long as he can get back on the field in some capacity Friday, Williams would still be in good position to complement D'Andre Swift groin out of the backfield during Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Williams hip wasn't present for the open portion of Thursday's practice, Detroit Free Press reports. Unless Williams fit in some work behind the scenes, he'll go down as a non-participant on Thursday's practice report. Williams was a limited participant Wednesday due to the hip issue, so he's seemingly trending in the wrong direction as Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Though he's seen his role in the passing game shrink since drawing nine targets Week 1, Williams has remained involved on the ground as a secondary option behind D'Andre Swift groin. Williams has logged double-digit carries in each of the past three games, averaging 4. Williams hip was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions ' official site reports. Williams played through the same injury last week, taking 15 touches for 65 yards in a loss to Minnesota.

His pass-catching involvement has been a disappointment since Week 1, but Williams has seven or more carries in every game this year, including a dozen or more in three straight.
